Peter Walker

Chief Judge

Peter’s passion for auctioneering competitions dates back to 2006 when he first entered the REIACT auctioneering competition. His competitive nature and instincts for self-improvement were ignited. Transitioning from competitor to judge seemed a logical choice for Peter. He saw judging as an opportunity to utilise his extensive learnings in human psychology and behavioural economics. This knowledge was put to good use when Peter collaborated with Mark Sumich and others, to develop an updated and revised auctioneering competition scoresheet, aimed to more accurately measure and assess the numerically challenging bidding sequences of recent years and more closely reflect the relative values of different auctioneering skills and the auctioneering experience each competitor presents.
